Whether or not you are into video games, you couldn’t have missed the phenomenon of Tomb Raider. Lara Croft, a British archaeologist, as voluptuous as she is athletic, came from the imagination of Square Enix studios, providing a great example of a strong woman that we dream of emulating, in many ways. If Angelina Jolie took on the role in the first two Tomb Raider films, a new face is soon going to hit the big screens in the third film. Do you know who we’re talking about?

Alicia Vikander as the leading lady

It is Swedish actress Alicia Vikander who has pride of place as the tomb raider much loved by adolescents! At barely 28 years of age, the beautiful Alicia is not new to the movie scene. In high demand with several years, she has already been in 22 feature films during her career, including, among the most well known, A Royal Affair, Ex-Machina and The Danish Girl.

The actress with something for everyone

She may not be very well known to you, but however: Alicia makes for a daring and brazen Lara, a geniune strong female who is up to the challenge of the most savage environments: in boots and army shorts, we follow her every stealthy move with admiration. That said, Lara 2.0 is also a simple and human character, who has to deal with the kinds of everyday problems we all face, such as paying her bills, having money problems or repelling the chauvinists that cross her path. All in all, a natural and real woman.

A promising debut, which will premiere in March 2018

Action, passion, emotion: these are the words that come to mind with regard to the film quite simply called Tomb Raider. With an impressive movie trailer, the film promises moments of edge-of-your-seat suspense and a healthy dose of adventure. Armed with a gun and a bow and arrow, Alicia shows her fearless talents while staying true to the original video game, which should please Playstation fans. The first mission: face danger on a Japanese island…. How better to have us awaiting the release with baited breath!
