Easily waterproof your shoes with this 100% natural magic recipe!

Did your leather shoes cost an arm and a leg? It’s important to look after them in order to make them last as long as possible. Here is an easy recipe that will allow you to waterproof them, as well as deeply nourish the leather -and all that with only two natural ingredients! Because, as friendly as the shoe salespeople were, the spray that they tried to sell you, which is supposed to protect your shoes from the elements, doesn’t protect them at all against wear and tear, and could even dry them out, as the solution contains alcohol and other chemicals…

What you need:

  • 2 dessertspoons of beeswax (which you can get in small pieces, in health shops)
  • 1.5 teaspoons of vegetable oil (olive oil, coconut oil, etc.)

1/ In a bain marie, melt the two dessertspoons of beeswax and 1.5 teaspoons of olive oil.

2/ Apply the solution to the leather with a brush. No need to panic if the wax leaves traces on the shoes once it dries, they will disappear when you follow the next step…

3/ With a hair dryer and an old sock, help the wax penetrate the leather.

And there you go, your new shoes are protected against all eventualities!
