4 Surprising Japanese secrets for weight loss

The key to a healthy body may be hiding elsewhere …

Dramatic diets, intensive sport and endless restrictions, we all went through it while desperately trying to lose some weight. What if the secret of a healthy body hid elsewhere? Here are four tips from Japanese women, to lose weight without much effort.

1/ Don’t do too much sport

This statement is surprising, but it is easy to explain: when we make excessive efforts, we are also very hungry and because we have done lots of exercise, we allow ourselves to eat more. Result: we do not necessarily gain weight, but we do not lose a lot either and on your visible muscles a thin layer of fat can appear. Therefore exercise, yes, but not to excess.

2/ Eat cooked vegetables

Raw vegetables are certainly very good for health, but they will make us feel hungry faster, compared to cooked foods, because they have the effect of cooling the body. We eat and then we would like to eat even more… So opt for steam cooking your vegetables.

3/Don’t drink water whilst eating

Japanese women usually never let a drink go to their lips during the whole meal. Why? Drinks (cold only, hot drinks are allowed) cool the body, and will not allow a good digestion: water will neutralize the acid produced by the stomach in the process of digestion, so your body will use energy for nothing, later giving you the sensation that you are still hungry.

4/ Take a bath

The benefits of hot baths for the body are many: the muscles relax, the blood circulates better, giving the same sensation as after a yoga class! Make it a habit to make a hot bath (not boiling) twice a month, for your digestion and purify your skin.
