2) Wash your hair twice or thrice a week maximum

If you wash your hair everyday, you will weaken it (and you might create even more oil). You should wash your hair thrice a week maximum if your hair gets oily easily. Prefer cold or lukewarm water and use a shampoo that really suits your type of hair and which doesn’t contain salt because it would be very drying. Use a nice hair mask if you can to make your hair even healthier.

3) Brush your hair regularly

Brushing your hair stimulates the production of oil which lubricates the scalp and the hair. If possible, use a soft boar-bristle brush because even if it might seem expensive compared to other brushes, it won’t damage your hair.

4) Don’t use hair dryers or hair straighteners

We know that it is tempting to use it when it is really cold outside because you don’t want to catch a cold. But if you do use it, don’t use the highest temperature. You don’t want to burn your hair!

As regards hair straighteners, they allow you to create the perfect hairstyle but they do really damage the hair and especially your ends. Don’t use it too much and never use it on wet or damp hair.

5) Cut your ends!

This might sound surprising but keep in mind that your hair are rubbed by your clothes and your body all day long. This is partly what creates split ends. If you want to stimulate your hair growth, cut your ends regularly (approximately every 3 months).
